Dröbischau is a district of the city of Königsee in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt ( Thuringia ).

Dröbischau is located on an unwooded plateau in the northern foreland of the Thuringian Forest between Rinnetal in the north and Schwarzatal in the south at an altitude of about 600 meters above sea level. NN. To the west of the village is the 808 meter high Lange Berg and to the east is the 665 meter high Barigauer Höhe .

history

Dröbischau was first mentioned in 1292 as Threbescowe , Egelsdorf in 1316 as Egilsdorf . The places belonged to the possessions of the Counts of Schwarzburg . The carting trade and weaving trade, later also the olities and glassware trade , had historical significance in the place . Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Egelsdorf was incorporated. From the mid-1950s, Dröbischau and Egelsdorf became holiday and recreation locations.

On January 1, 2019, Dröbischau was incorporated into the neighboring town of Königsee .

Dröbischau belonged to the dissolved administrative community of Middle Schwarzatal until it was incorporated into Königsee .

The last mayor was Dietmar Heinze and was elected on June 27, 2004.

Economy and Transport

In the Dröbischauer area there is mainly cattle breeding (cattle, formerly also sheep and goats). There is also tourism in the village , but most of the residents are commuters who go to work mainly to Königsee.

Roads connect the village with Königsee in the north, Mellenbach-Glasbach in the south and Oberhain in the east.
