Storchsdorf is a district of the town of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

geography

The village, 400 m above sea ​​level , is not far north behind Rottenbach on a southern slope. The high proportion of forest and grassland is naturally influenced by the alternation of hillside and valley locations. The rock-rich shell limestone and red sandstone weathered soils are dry locations and depend on precipitation.

history

Storchsdorf was first mentioned in a document on January 16, 1380. Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

On July 1, 1950, the place was incorporated into the Rottenbach community.
