Horba is a district of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

The place Horba is on the edge of the Thuringian Forest on a high plateau and is surrounded by the forests of the Paulinzella Forest . The main town of Königsee is located in the valley southwest of Horba.

history

The village was first mentioned in 1371 under the name Horwe . Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
