Dörnfeld an der Heide is a district of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

location

The place is in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park . The federal highway 88 runs through the village .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1120 under the name Durnevelt uff der Heyde . Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
