Oberköditz is a village in the Köditz district of the city of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

location

The place is in the Thuringian Forest Nature Park east of the main town of Königsee. The federal highway 88 runs through the village .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1335 under the name Obircoditz . Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .

On July 1, 1950, Oberköditz merged with Unterköditz to form the new municipality of Köditz . Since 1994 the place belongs to the city of Königsee .
