Leutnitz is a district of the town of Königsee in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .
geography
Leutnitz lies at the confluence of the Tellbach with the Rinne in the Rinne-Rottenbachtal nature reserve . The high proportion of forest and grassland is influenced by the change in hillside and valley locations and by the climate . Red sandstone floors predominate.
history
Leutnitz was first officially registered in 1411. Until 1918 the place belonged to the sovereignty of the Principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt .
In 1895 the Erfurt – Saalfeld line was opened, with a stop in Leutnitz, which was closed in December 2011 due to low passenger numbers.
On July 1, 1950, Leutnitz was incorporated into Quittelsdorf . On December 2, 1990, it was spun off as an independent municipality and on December 31, 1990 had 148 inhabitants on an area of 199 ha.
