In the administrative community Mittleres Schwarzatal from the Thuringian district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt , eleven municipalities were united until January 1, 2019 to handle their administrative business. The administrative seat was in Sitzendorf.

history
The administrative community was founded on July 14, 1993.
On July 6, 2018 was Wittgendorf as part of the administrative reform of Thuringia in 2018 and 2019, according to Saalfeld / Saale incorporated.
The administrative community was dissolved on January 1, 2019. The church affiliations changed as follows:
- Dröbischau, Oberhain: Incorporation to Königsee
- Allendorf, Bechstedt: Fulfilled by Königsee
- Mellenbach-Glasbach: Merger with Oberweißbach / Thuringian Forest and the municipality of Meuselbach-Schwarzmühle (both from the administrative community of Bergbahnregion / Schwarzatal ) to form the town and rural municipality of Schwarzatal
The latter as well as the other member communities merged with the other member communities of the Bergbahnregion / Schwarzatal administrative community to form the Schwarzatal administrative community.
The last chairman was Günter Himmelreich.
