Location of the former administrative community in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district

In the administrative community Lift Region / Schwarzatal from the Thuringian Saalfeld-Rudolstadt the city were Oberweißbach / Thür. Forest and four municipalities have come together to carry out their administrative business. The administrative seat was in the city of Oberweißbach / Thuringia.

Colloquially, this area is known as Raanz , based on the work equipment of the " humpback pharmacists ", who shaped this region from the 16th to the 20th century. The term Raanz = "satchel" stands for a special form of reef made of leather developed in Oberweißbach. The oil trade was ultimately also the driving force behind the construction of the Oberweißbacher Bergbahn , which connected the villages on the plateau to the transport network.
