Großröda village church
The Evangelical Lutheran village church Großröda is located in the Großröda district of the Starkenberg community in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .
history
The village church was first mentioned in a document in 1526 . But it has already stood before. In 1529 the church was elevated to a parish church . In 1584 lightning damaged the church tower and the building. The church stood until 1863. Because it was too small, it was demolished.
The church was rebuilt. This is how the neo-Romanesque hall church presents itself today . It has a retracted semicircular apse and a west tower. The tower is square in three storeys and has an octagonal helmet . Inside the gallery is attached under the flat ceiling . The equipment is from the time it was built.
After the turn
In 2010 and 2011, the renovation of the church in line with listed buildings began. The windows were renewed and more.
