The church

The Evangelical village church Hammerstedt is in the municipality Hammerstedt in the district of Weimarer Land in Thuringia .

history

The Evangelical branch church Hammerstedt is a massive and stone-faced built choir tower church . It burned down in 1785 and was rebuilt in 1787 with a mansard roof . The pulpit altar in the round-arched triumphal arch dates from this time.

The Annunciation is shown in the middle of the baptismal bowl from 1715 .

The roof of the church was redeveloped in the 2000s. Large donations were made for this purpose. When the golden tower ball was supposed to be laid by master roofer A. Herbarth on October 8, 2001 , it fell over the tower and church roof to the ground, damaging the roof.
