The church

The Evangelical village church of Liebstedt is in the Liebstedt district of the Ilmtal-Weinstrasse community in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia .

history

Since the first Protestant pastor was introduced in 1543, there must have been a church at this time. One even mentions a very early point in time that has not been documented. In the Thirty Years' War which was church often badly damaged. The security work certainly did not lead to the desired success, so that the church had to be demolished in 1742 because it was in disrepair. It took another 26 years to complete the construction without a church tower . The tower was only built after almost 200 years, namely in 1938.

In 1887 the new bell was made by the Ulrich bell foundry in Apolda . The two large bells were picked up for war purposes in February 1941.

In the nave

The interior of the church is simple and ecclesiastically dignified: it has 400 seats.
