The wings of the red kite have a total of 16 wing feathers ". The red kite was chosen because the largest red kite density center in the Federal Republic is located in the municipality. The nine green linden leaves stand for the founding towns of the rural community, the 16 feathers the number of main towns in 2019, when the rural community gave itself this coat of arms.

Partner community

A partnership has existed since 1995 - at that time still established with the administrative community - with the Freinsheim association in Rhineland-Palatinate .

Partner congregations of the Evangelical Church

Evangelical Lamprechtskirche Meßstetten

The Evangelical Church in Württemberg tried to overcome the division of Germany with assigned parish partnerships. In the middle of the Cold War , when pensioners from the Ilmtal-Weinstrasse community visited youth circles in Meßstetten, they reported about life in the Ilmtal-Weinstrasse and Siggi Zimmer wrote the song Lord your love is like grass and banks ... And yet there are walls between people , and only through bars do we look at each other ... in tune. Pastor Richard Reininghaus from Meßstetten procured the copper nails that were supposedly not deliverable in the GDR to prevent corrosion damage to the church roof in Ilmtal-Weinstrasse. Alphorn blowers received the group from Ilmtal-Weinstraße 2019. The Swabian Alb Association in Hossingen gave an insight into its diverse activities for the preservation of the diversity and beauty of the landscape and nature.

Economy and Infrastructure

In the villages of Niederreißen and Oberreißen, the sewage association "Finne" , based in Sömmerda, is responsible for wastewater treatment and disposal.

The wastewater treatment and disposal in the villages of Rohrbach and Leutenthal is the responsibility of the "Nordkreis Weimar" wastewater association based in Buttelstedt .

In all other localities, the authority of wastewater disposal and wastewater treatment is the responsibility of the Apolda wastewater association based in Apolda.
