Oberreißen is a district of the rural community Ilmtal-Weinstrasse in the northeast of the Weimarer Land district .
location
Obereißen is located north of Apolda in the fertile Thuringian Basin just before Buttstädt .
history
The place was first mentioned on June 5, 1262. The place arose from the amalgamation of the places Crellwitz and Reißen, whose natural border was the Hohndorfer Bach. Reißen had its own church, whereas Crellwitz only had a chapel. Both places had their own cemetery.
Up until the beginning of the 19th century, Oberreißen was located in a southern branch of the Electoral Saxon district of Eckartsberga , which protruded into the Duchy of Saxony-Weimar . He was just about to post Wendelstein related site Willerstedt with the rest of the Thuringian county joined the Electorate of Saxony. Due to the effects of the Congress of Vienna , Oberreißen came to the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach along with other southern locations of the Eckartsberga district in 1815 and was incorporated into the Buttstädt district in 1817 , which was opened in the Apolda administrative district of the Saxon-Weimar-Eisenach administrative district in 1850 . In 1920 the place came to the state of Thuringia.
On December 31, 2013, Oberreißen was incorporated into the new rural community of Ilmtal-Weinstrasse.
Attractions
The distinctive buildings of the community are located at both entrances to Oberreißen. To the south is the village church of Oberreißen , the tower of which was rebuilt in 1715, and to the north is the former windmill, which was built around 1700 and was later destroyed by fire.
