Crellwitz

Crellwitz is a deserted area in the district of Oberreißen in the rural community of Ilmtal-Weinstrasse in the Thuringian district of Weimarer Land .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1225. Crellwitz and its neighboring village of Reißen formed the village of Oberreißen. The Hohndorfer Bach formed the border between the two places. Both places had their own cemeteries. There was a church in Reißen, whereas Crellwitz only had a chapel . The distinctive buildings of Oberreißen were located at the entrance to the town.
