history
Nirmsdorf was first mentioned in a document on May 18, 956. In 1841 a new church was added to an older church tower . Until the beginning of the 19th century, Nirmsdorf was located in a southern branch of the Electoral Saxon district of Eckartsberga , which protruded into the Duchy of Saxony-Weimar . As a result of the effects of the Congress of Vienna , Nirmsdorf came to the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach in 1815 along with other places in the south of the Eckartsberga District , and in 1817 it became part of the Buttstädt District , which opened in the Apolda administrative district of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach in 1850 . In 1920 the place came to the state of Thuringia.
On December 31, 2013, Nirmsdorf was incorporated into the new rural community of Ilmtal-Weinstrasse.
