Pfiffelbach is a district and the administrative seat of the rural community of Ilmtal-Weinstrasse in the northeast of the Weimarer Land district , named after the river it flows through.

location

Pfiffelbach is located north of Apolda in the fertile Thuringian basin on an arable site . The state roads 2159 and 1957 touch the place.

history

The first documentary mention of the village dates back to February 1233.

During this time, a "Heinricus von Phephilbache" was named as a witness in a certificate from Count von Wiehe . This indicates a noble family that probably owned a Fronhof in the village. Pfiffelbach was first mentioned directly in 1265 ("Widen iuxta Phiffelbeche"). In the vicinity of the place there are 5 devastations, all of which were devastated by the Count Wars in the 13th and 14th centuries. They were called "Gasella" in the SE, "Niederndorf" in the east, "Putschendorf" in the NW, "Weiden" or "Delitzsch" in the NE and "Oberhöfen" also in the NW.

Pfiffelbach belonged to the Ernestine Office of Roßla , which came to Saxe-Weimar when the line Saxe-Altenburg died out in 1672 and belonged to Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach from 1741 . During the administrative reform of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, the place came to the administrative district of Weimar II in 1850 and legally to the Buttstädt Judicial Office . The place has belonged to Thuringia since 1920.

On December 31, 2013, Pfiffelbach was incorporated into the new rural community of Ilmtal-Weinstrasse.
