Ulrichshalben is a district of the rural community Ilmtal-Weinstrasse in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia .
location
Ulrichshalben is located immediately southwest of Oßmannstedt. The Ilm flows between the villages . The fertile area used for agriculture is loosened up by greened rivers and streams and erosion channels.
history
The first documentary mention of the village goes back to 1297.
In Ulrichshalben there was a moated castle , of which there are no more remains. The area is protected as a ground monument. Later a manor was built here . In 1923 the Bausa drivers were registered as owners. The village as a whole was characterized by agriculture.
Around April 12, 1945 Ulrichshalben was occupied by US troops , which were replaced by the Red Army in early July . As a result, the place, like all of Thuringia, became part of the Soviet Zone and from 1949 of the GDR . The manor was expropriated and the mansion was blown up. The further development was then shaped by the collectivization of agriculture. After the political change in 1990, it adapted to new forms of ownership.
