Eberstedt is a municipality in the northeast of the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . The fulfilling municipality is the city of Bad Sulza .
geography
The community is located in the northeast Thuringian Basin , about 10 km northeast of the district town of Apolda . Eberstedt is 5 km to the south-east of the state border with Saxony-Anhalt , where the fulfilling municipality of Bad Sulza is located.
The Ilm runs immediately south of Eberstedt, on the opposite side of the river is the neighboring community of Niedertrebra . The community is located on the Ilmtal cycle path , the church is designated as a cycle path church.
The next supraregional traffic connection is the federal road 87 ; it can be reached via Apolda.
history
The first written mention of the place comes from the year 876.
The place with aristocratic jurisdiction belonged to the Ernestine Office Roßla from the middle of the 15th century , which in 1572 to Saxe-Weimar , 1603 to Saxe-Altenburg , 1672 again to Saxe-Weimar and 1741 to Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach . During the administrative reform of the Grand Duchy of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach, the place came to the administrative district Weimar II ( administrative district Apolda ) in 1850 and to the state of Thuringia in 1920.
In the 1990s a "floating hut village" was built on a pond on the outskirts next to the oil mill , where hikers, cyclists and motorized tourists can spend a weekend or vacation.

The village church of St. Margarete , a choir tower church , has a steeple from 1588.
Regular events
The fair is held annually on the Sunday after July 13 and will be held today on a dance loge instead, which is a rarity in the region. The box - previously a wooden structure - was repaired in 1954 and extended to include today's stage.
