The Protestant village church Lobbese is a late Romanesque hall church in the Lobbese district of Treuenbrietzen in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the parish area Treuenbrietzen in the parish of Mittelmark-Brandenburg of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .

History and architecture

The church is a slightly elevated, elongated, late Romanesque hall building made of field stone from the end of the 12th or the first half of the 13th century, with a recessed, almost square choir and a small apse . A half - timbered roof turret with a massive west wall is built over the west gable , which probably dates from the 18th century. The church was renovated in 1898, 1966 and 1997. The porch above the south portal is likely to have originated from the first-mentioned construction project. The small arched windows in the apse have been preserved, the other windows have been extended to form a wide arch. In the north wall of the nave and in the south wall of the choir there is a walled up round arched portal. The masonry, which is still made in layers with cuboids in the lower layers, becomes more irregular towards the top; In the west wall, bricks of various types are also walled up. Buttresses were also built there for stabilization, but this did not prevent settlement .

Furnishing

Inside, a round-arched triumphal arch separates the nave and choir, which are closed with plastered ceilings. A dome closes the apse. In the choir a 1518 dated finds sacrament niche with kielbogiger , fialengeschmückter Sandsteinrahmung and the Saxon coat of arms. The wooden pulpit, from the 17th century, consists of a polygonal basket over a twisted column with corner columns and painted evangelistic representations; A painting of the Protestant confession can be found on the adjacent parsonage . A painting depicting the crucifixion dates from the 17th century. The organ is a work by Gottfried Wilhelm Baer from 1853 with eight stops on a manual and pedal , which was repaired in 1963 by Alexander Schuke .
