Mützel village church

The Mützel village church is a half-timbered church in the village of Mützel in the town of Genthin in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt . The village church is registered as an architectural monument in the monument register for the city of Genthin under registration number 094 76159 . Today it belongs to the Genthin parish.

The village church of Mützel is located on Käthe-Kollwitz-Platz in Mützel. To the east of the church is the town's war memorial .

history

King Friedrich II had collections put up in the churches in Prussia to collect money for the construction of a village church for the then still young community. Thanks to donations, the half-timbered church in Mützel was built in 1767. As the church was heavily infested with woodworm, gas pest control was carried out in 2011.

Furnishing

The simple pulpit altar dates from 1783. The slim neo-Gothic font was created in 1848. The organ from R. Voigt's workshop was built around 1870.
