The Schorba village church is located in the Schorba district of the Bucha municipality in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish of Magdala / Bucharest in the church district Jena the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The branch church in Schorba is a hall church with a western roof tower . It was built in 1749/50 after assessing the old parts of the building.

architecture

The church is a simple stone-faced rectangular building with two rows of windows.

The choir is separated from the nave by a single-storey prospect . In the middle is the pulpit altar with a pair of columns, as well as an entablature with a sound cover and with the figures of Peter and Moses . A monogram cartouche bears the year 1750.

Furnishing

The furnishings of the church come from the analyzed time. There are especially the three-sided gallery and the pulpit altar . These were fundamentally renewed in the 20th century. The gallery supports have been newly decorated with Corinthian capitals . Damage to the stucco framed ceiling was repaired or otherwise replaced.
