The church

The village church Seitenroda is located in the village of the same name in the town of Kahla in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish Kahla Hummelshain in Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The church is located in the shadow of the Leuchtenburg in the east towards Stadtroda in Seitenroda .

The exact year of construction is not known. What is certain is that the church has been rebuilt many times. Its simplicity can also be seen inside.

On the north and east side there are pointed arch windows from the 16th and 17th centuries as well as the galleries in the nave . The organ was built in 1838/39 by Friedrich Menger from Paulinzella .

The galleries and windows are the same as those of the castle chapel of the Leuchtenburg. Here the influence of the pastors is reflected; because they were also pastors at that time .
