The church

The Evangelical Lutheran village church of Staitz is located in the Staitz district of the municipality of Auma-Weidatal in the Greiz district in Thuringia . The corresponding parish is the parish Hohenleuben a parish area in the parish of Greiz of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

The first church was probably built in 1521. After a fire destroyed it in 1812 and three church bells were also destroyed by flames, the current village church was built in 1816 . A new bell was cast as early as 1813 . It still bears the inscription: "God bless and receive Staitz".
