The Protestant village church Wallmoden is a listed building in Alt Wallmoden .

history

The simple quarry stone building , still in use today, was built at the beginning of the 17th century. The church was under the patronage of the von Wallmoden family . The church building has a rectangular floor plan with a three-sided choir closure. It is about 20 m long, the choir is 8.5 m wide and 5 m high. The surrounding walls are made of quarry stone and about 0.5 m thick. On the long walls there are double-storey and richly decorated preachers , which were originally reserved for the noble family as patronage preachers.

During the renovation work in 1850, the church received its tower, in the following year a vestibule was added and the windows were renewed and given new facings made of ashlar . In addition, the prieches, the font and the sculptures above the organ gallery were renewed. Further renovations were carried out in 1883 by the von Wallmoden family. With the renovation work of 1986/87, the wooden figures were renewed, the baptismal font and the baroque pulpit altar were restored and released again. The nave got a new floor and the walls, the vaulted ceiling and the columns were painted white.

Since the introduction of the Reformation in 1568 and the associated reorganization of the church, the community has belonged to the special inspection in Baddeckestedt, which in turn was part of the general inspection in Bockenem. The parish today belongs together with Upen ( Liebenburg ) to the Parish Association of Ringelheim , which in turn belongs to the Goslar Provostry.
