The church

The Evangelical Lutheran village church Wettelswalde is located in the Wettelswalde district of the Thonhausen community in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia .

The recent story

At the end of 1990, the demolition of the church in Wettelswalde was item 1 of the agenda. The result was the shortage economy in the GDR . This is also one of the reasons why one has not yet had time to report on the past history of the sacred building .

It is thanks to the initiative of many villagers and parishioners and by the local priest and the help of the partner parish from Illingen that the small village church was saved.

Donations from near and far as well as the parish of the partner parish Illingen and the trumpet choir helped to achieve the goal mentioned.
