The village linden

The village linden tree in Aua is an approximately 1000 to 1200 year old linden tree in the Aua district of Neuenstein in Geistal in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district in eastern Hesse . It is a natural monument.

Together with the neighboring Evangelical Church, which is under monument protection , the linden tree shapes the townscape. Their age is estimated to be between 1000 and 1200 years. The linden tree is partially walled. The walling was renewed in 1826.
