Evangelical Church Ouch
The Protestant church is a listed church building in Aua , a district of the Neuenstein community in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district of Hesse .
History and architecture
Abbot Siegfried von Hersfeld founded in 1190 an Augustinian nuns - monastery in ouch whose monastery church was the current building. The monastery was moved to Blankenheim after 1229 , where it existed until 1527.
In the short, wide, late Romanesque building was in Gothic an arched over time fighters bricked with bead profile. This was probably an original triumphal arch of a Romanesque nave planned to the west or which has now disappeared . The interior is divided by a similar but younger round arch. The windows were installed in 1860. The ceiling rests on a wooden support.
Furnishing
In front of the church is the old village linden of Aua , the walling of which was renewed in 1826.
