Doris Iten

Doris Iten (born September 4, 1961 in Lausanne ) is a Swiss politician for the Swiss People's Party (SVP) and an entrepreneur. She has been a member of the Grand Council in Canton Aargau since 2017 . She is also a member of the board of directors of SVP Brugg district , president of SVP local party Birr and member of the transport commission of the municipality of Birr.

Political career

Doris Iten was a member of the Birr school maintenance department from 2009 to 2013, where she was responsible for social affairs and conflict management. At the beginning of 2010 she joined the Swiss People's Party (SVP) as a member and was elected to the board of the SVP local party Birr only one year later. Within the board of directors, she campaigned primarily for active local politics . At the general assembly in May 2013, she replaced the incumbent local party president in his function and took over the body with 5 members.

In the autumn of 2016, Doris Iten ran as a candidate for the Canton of Aargau in the Brugg district. Her focus is on promoting the framework conditions for SMEs, education, the elderly as well as asylum and social policy. In the general renewal elections for the Grand Council on October 23, 2016, Doris Iten achieved 3460 votes in the Brugg district and was thus elected to 5th place. With this she occupied the replacement place for the SVP in the Brugg district. On June 27, 2017, Doris Iten was sworn in at the council meeting after her predecessor Dominik Riner was accused of embezzling party funds and resigned from his mandate.
