Doris Meyer

Doris Meyer (born June 10, 1957 in Höchstädt an der Donau ; † January 22, 2012 ) was a German politician from Oppertshofen in Bavaria.

Life

After completing secondary school, Doris Meyer learned the miller's trade from 1973 to 1975 , and in 1979 she passed the master's examination. From 1978 to 1980 she attended the German Milling School in Braunschweig , graduating as a state-certified milling technician, and in 1992 she took over her parents' mill and sawmill. She joined the CSU in 1975 and was a member of the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2005 . From May 1984 until her death she was a member of the Donau-Ries district council . She was a member of the municipal council of her home town of Tapfheim from May 1984 to October 2011 and was awarded the Silver Citizen Medal by them. Doris Meyer campaigned for the energy turnaround for years, among other things as Vice President of the Federal Association for Renewable Energy , Vice President of the Federal Association of German Hydropower Plants and Vice President of the Association of Hydropower Plants in Bavaria.

Doris Meyer died on January 22, 2012 after a serious illness.
