Doris Wagner (born January 28, 1963 in Bremen ) is a German translator and former member of the German Bundestag ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ).

Life

Doris Wagner attended school in Bremen and passed the Abitur examination there in 1982. She then went to the interpreting school in Würzburg, where she graduated in 1985 as a state-certified translator with a focus on business. She then worked as a foreign language correspondent in England and Italy. She returned to Germany in 1995, completed an apprenticeship as a textile business administrator and worked in this industry. From 2002 to 2009 she was self-employed as an event agent. From 2009 to 2013 she headed the German office of MEP Barbara Lochbihler .

politics

In 2001 she joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party and held numerous positions in the party. From 2010 to 2013 she was a women's officer for the Bavarian Green Party on parental leave . Wagner is particularly committed to gender equality issues. She was the spokesperson for the Federal Working Group for Women's Policy and the spokesperson for the state working group for women's and gender equality policy in Bavaria.

MPs

In the 2013 Bundestag election , she ran in the constituency of Munich-North and entered the Bundestag via the state list. There she was spokeswoman for the Greens parliamentary group for demographic policy and chairwoman in the committee for family, senior citizens, women and youth . In addition, Wagner was a full member of the Defense Committee and a full member of the Interparliamentary Conference for the GASP / CSDP ( Common Foreign and Security Policy / Common Security and Defense Policy ).
