According to its own information, Dorner Electronic is the European market leader in the development and manufacture of software solutions for the building materials industry . The globally active, medium-sized company is based in Egg , in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg .
Dorner Electronic specializes in the planning, production and installation of industrial process controls for ready-mixed concrete and precast plants , ready-made plaster and dry mortar plants. Networked modules such as disposition , laboratory and invoicing programs are also part of the product portfolio .
history
The Vorarlberg family company Dorner Electronic was founded in 1964 by Ing.Elmar Dorner and Konrad Dorner under the name "Dorner Electronic Special Devices GbR" in Egg, Loco 511. At the beginning the company employed 6 people. By using the world's first µP system in the construction industry , Dorner achieved a breakthrough in the market as early as 1972. By 1980 this position was expanded to become the European market leader in the industry.
In 1977 Dorner moved into the new business building in Egg, Kohlgrub 914, which still exists today. As the son of Elmar Dorner, Andreas Dorner joined the family business in 1986 at the age of 25 and took over the sole management of the company when Elmar and Konrad Dorner retired in 1998. In 2008 Dorner Electronic received a recognition award for its newly developed product DornerBRM.
2018: After 30 years, Andreas Dorner, Managing Director of Dorner Electronic GmbH based in Egg, withdrew from the operative business. With Peter Germann and Michael Jäger, two experienced Dorner employees took over the helm of the innovative Bregenzerwald company in January 2018. Andreas Dorner founded Dorner Holding in Egg in 2016 to support the companies Dorner Electronic GmbH (Egg) and Dorner ASP AG (Heerbrugg) from the owner role. Furthermore, Dorner Holding focuses on the digital transformation of the Dorner companies - among other things, it involves extending the value chain beyond concrete production and distribution. Michael Jäger has been the sole managing director of Dorner Electronic again since mid-June 2020.
2018: Dorner receives the award as the best small and medium-sized enterprise in the category trade / handicraft in Vorarlberg.
