Dorothea Wehinger

Dorothea Wehinger (born January 21, 1953 in Sigmaringen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament since 2016 .

Life

Dorothea Wehinger first completed her apprenticeship as a pharmacy assistant and worked in the Sigmaringen regional hospital. She completed further training as an educator at the Fachschule für Sozialpädagogik in Freiburg and then worked as a kindergarten director and in youth work. It now offers further training for employees in day-care centers.

Wehinger grew up with seven siblings. Today she is married and has three grown sons.

Political career

Wehinger has been a member of the district council in the Konstanz district and the Steißlingen district council since 2014 . In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , she won a direct mandate (first mandate) in the state constituency of Singen . She is deputy chairwoman of the European and International Committee in the state parliament.

Trivia

Dorothea Wehinger is the sister of Gerlinde Kretschmann, the wife of the Baden-Württemberg Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann and therefore his sister-in-law.
