Dou di zhu
Dou Di Zhu , ( Chinese 鬥地主 , Pinyin Dòu Dìzhǔ ); For example, "Fight the Liege" is a very popular card game in China , which is about discarding all cards as quickly as possible.
Game preparation
Dou Di Zhu is played by three players with a 52-hand deck of cards with 2 jokers . Each player receives 17 cards, the remaining three cards are placed face down on the table.
Then the bidding is similar to that of Skat , but only three bids are possible: 1, 2 and 3, which also determines the stake. Players do not have to place bids; however, if you want to be a player, you have to outbid previous bids. The highest bidder then plays alone ("the feudal lord"), the other two players play as a team against him. The player reveals the three cards on the table and then takes them into his hand.

Card values
- Colors have no meaning
- The cards are sorted according to their values . Colored joker> black / white joker> 2> ace (A)> king (K)> queen (Q)> jack (J)> 10> 9> 8> 7> 6> 5> 4> 3.
Game flow
In turn, the players play cards. The player (liege lord) may be the first to reveal one or more cards (combinations) (see below). In China, it is then the turn of the opponent sitting on the right of the player. This may either pass, or the same number of cards of the same category , but of a higher value, on the previously played cards . Whoever has played the highest value when all other players have passed wins the trick and is allowed to come out again.

Exceptions
- Every four of a kind (without a kicker) can be placed on any combination (bomb) and can only be hit by a higher bomb
- Both jokers together form the highest bomb (and may also always be played)
Trick win
- The trick is only over when no player can or wants to play any more cards
- With the exception of the bombs, only the same number of cards of the same category may be played, e.g. 8-9-10-BD on 3-4-5-6-7, but not 4-5-6-7-8-9 on the same street
- The values of the kickers are never relevant, but their presence is: If, for example, a pair of three of a kind has been played out, a higher three of a kind and a pair must be used
- The kicker must not have the same value as the base cards
- The 2 cannot be used as part of a road
Rating
The first player to discard all cards wins. If this is the capitalist, he receives a payout (money, chips, points) from both opponents. If it is one of the opponents, both opponents receive the payout.
The payout is calculated according to the bid when bidding. For each bomb played, the value is doubled if a player still has all cards, likewise.
strategy
- Useless and small cards make good table football
- Bombs are extremely valuable: Firstly, the game value is doubled, and secondly, after a bomb, the player is more likely to have another turn and can possibly play one last small card or combination
- The opponents should play cooperatively
- If your hands are good, place a high starting bid
- long streets are hard to beat even when made up of small maps
- Small cards are difficult to get rid of, even in pairs, and should therefore be played in streets
- Individual cards are generally worse to get rid of than all combinations
