Douglas Haldeman

Douglas Haldeman (born September 16, 1951 in Seattle ) is an American psychologist , psychotherapist and author .

biography

Haldeman was born in Seattle on September 16, 1951. In 1975 Haldeman received a Masters in Education from Stanford University . In 1983 he obtained a doctorate in psychology from the University of Washington . In his work, Haldeman deals heavily with LGBT topics in psychology and psychotherapy. In 1984 he founded his own practice in Seattle , Washington . Haldeman currently resides in Seattle , Washington with his longtime partner .

Haldeman serves on the board of directors of the American Psychological Association . He campaigns for the rights of homosexual people, but at the same time calls for the right of every homosexual person to seek therapy if the person concerned is dissatisfied with his or her sexual orientation.
