Douglas Hulick

Douglas Lee Hulick (* 1965 in Fargo , North Dakota ) is an American writer of fantasy novels . His novel Among Thieves was shortlisted for the 2011 Kitschies Golden Tentacle Award for best debut novel.

Life

Hulick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from the University of Illinois and later earned his Masters in Medieval History from New Mexico State University . He then financed his livelihood with odd jobs as a waiter, bookseller, role-play author, among other things. A book on the language and practices of criminal subcultures inspired him to write fantasy.
