Dove-1 was an earth observation satellite of the US company Cosmogia in Sunnyvale , California .
The satellite was launched on April 21, 2013 UTC from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport together with a Cygnus dummy and the small satellites PhoneSat v1a , v1b and v2 with an Antares rocket.
Structure and payload
The Dove-1 is a 3U size Cubesat . The satellite has a small camera and is intended to demonstrate the technical possibilities of how inexpensive satellites can be built using COTS components.
