Dover Patrol

The Dover Patrol was a British Royal Navy - Command in World War I , well known for his involvement in the attack on Zeebrugge and Ostend on 22 April 1918. The ships of the Dover Patrol were in Dover and Dunkirk stationed. Their main task was to prevent German naval forces from entering the English Channel . In particular, the passage of German submarines was to be prevented, for which purpose they guarded the Dover lock . In addition, there were regular land bombardments of the German-occupied Belgian coast through monitors and older battleships.
