Dovilė Šakalienė

Dovilė Šakalienė (born June 1, 1978 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian politician and legal psychologist .

Life

From 1994 to 1995 she studied for a semester on the student exchange program of Open Society Fund-Lithuania at Cibola High School in the US state of New Mexico . In 1996 she graduated from Panevėžys 5th Middle School . From 1996 to 2001 she completed a bachelor's degree in psychology at the Vilniaus universitetas and in 2003 a master's degree in forensic psychology at the Mykolo Romerio universitetas (MRU) in Vilnius .

From 2004 to 2005 she taught criminal psychology (practical seminars) at the MRU. From 2004 to 2015 she worked first as a project manager and then as an executive director at the Institute of Human Rights ( Žmogaus teisių stebėjimo institutas ). From 2011 to 2015 she was the presenter on “Žinių radijas” and producer of the author's show “Žmogus žmogui”. From 2012 to 2016 she worked as an accredited journalist at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg . Since November 2016 she has been a Seimas member of the party Lietuvos valstiečių ir žaliųjų sąjunga .

Šakalienė is married. She has a son with her husband Valdas Šakalys.
