The American company Dow Jones Indexes emerged from a joint venture of Dow Jones & Company and CME Group .

Dow Jones & Company contributed all of its indices, including the Dow Jones Industrial Average known in Europe as the Dow Jones Index , and the CME Group its market data services . In addition, the CME Group of Dow Jones & Company paid 607.5 million dollars . Dow Jones & Company holds ten percent and CME Group 90% of the joint venture . The headquarters of the company in Princeton in the state of New Jersey .

McGraw-Hill is negotiating a joint venture between the S&P Indices and the Dow Jones Indexes with the CME Group . McGraw-Hill would hold approx. 75% and CME Group approx. 25% of the joint venture. The previous minority owner Dow Jones & Company would remain in the single-digit percentage range.

The company offers around 130,000 indices for a wide variety of economic sectors.
