Dragomir Felba

Dragomir Felba (born July 7, 1921 in Skopje , Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes ; † July 14, 2006 in Belgrade ) was a Yugoslav or Serbian actor .

Life

After graduating from school, Felba, born in Skopje, Macedonia, attended the technical and law faculty of the University of Belgrade . He then learned the acting profession at the Academy for Dramatic Art there. He received his first engagement at the Yugoslav Theater in Belgrade.

From 1956, however, his artistic focus was on film. Felba, who played his first leading role in the war film Barbra Zvana in 1949 , has appeared in well over a hundred film and television productions in a film career spanning more than 50 years. These included numerous Western European and international productions. He played under the direction of William Dieterle in the Italian adventure film The Rebel of Mexico , under the direction of Wolfgang Staudte in the war film Herrenpartie , alongside Peter Alexander in the comedy Graf Bobby, the horror of the Wild West , alongside Horst Buchholz in the lavishly produced historical epic Im Reich of Kublai Khan , alongside Yul Brynner and Sergei Bondarchuk in the war drama The Battle of the Neretva and, directed by Harald Reinl, in the Karl May adaptation Winnetou 3rd part . He became known to a younger audience primarily through the Yugoslav-German children's series Die Rote Zora and her gang in the role of the benevolent "Fischer Gorian".

In his Yugoslav homeland, Felba was a sought-after character actor and was honored with the Slavica Prize for Lifetime Achievement in 1981 for his services to the film . After the fall of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia , Felba rarely appeared in front of the camera. His last film appearance was in 2000 in the drama Senke uspomena .
