Wire hook

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A wire hook is a U-shaped nail without a head. The side of the nail tip is longer in contrast to a staple , so that the square wire hook resembles a fish hook . The wire hooks are used in viticulture in particular to fix the anchor wire to the tensioning stitches and they also serve to guide the stitching wires of the trellis , which the vines use as a climbing aid . The galvanized hook does not enclose the wire as opposed to a staple completely, allowing the re-hooking when the wire must be replaced. The opening of the wire hook points upwards.

The straight pins are also square and they have a nail head. They are hammered into the side of the tensioning stick with a hammer and are used to attach the tensioning device.
