The Drake Head is a headland on the Oates Coast in the north of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It marks the west side of the entrance to Davies Bay .
She was discovered in February 1911 by Lieutenant Harry Lewin Lee Pennell (1882-1916), a crew member of the Terra Nova during the Antarctic expedition of the same name (1910-1913) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott . It is named after Francis Randall Hugo Drake (1878–1936), meteorologist on board the Terra Nova during this research trip .
