The bronze female figure wrapped in a robe on a thin plinth with rounded corners was created in 1952/53 by Henry Moore at the south entrance of the Museum Ludwig above Kurt-Hackenberg-Platz . With a length of 157 cm, the sculpture is 102 cm high.
In 1954 the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum in Cologne acquired the sculpture in London. In 1976 it was transferred to the Ludwig Museum and included in their collection (inventory no. ML 76 / SK 0223). Before it was installed at its current location, it was in the courtyard of the former Wallraf-Richartz-Museum, An der Rechtschule, where the Museum of Applied Arts is now located.
