The Drasi ( Greek Δράση German: acting ) is a liberal Greek party .

The party was a member of the European party Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) until February 2019 .

history

The party was founded on March 17, 2009. Founding members of the party were among others Stefanos Manos, Vasilis Kondogiannopoulos, Giannis Boutaris , Thanos Veremis, Konstantinos Markoulakis, Alexandros Tombazis, Nikos Dimou. The founding declaration , which in Greece functions as support signatures , was signed by 600 citizens. The hurdle for official recognition as a party in national elections was thus passed.

In November 2012, the European parliamentarian Thodoros Skylakakis , who had originally been elected for the Nea Dimokratia , joined Drasi so that the party was represented in the European Parliament . Skylakakis belonged to the ALDE faction and became party leader of Drasi in July 2013.

elections

The party first took part in the European elections in 2009. It received 38,895 votes, which corresponds to 0.76 percent. The top candidate was Stefanos Manos. The party also competed in local elections in Thessaloniki and Athens in 2010 . In Thessaloniki she has since provided the mayor together with Giannis Boutaris , in Athens she supported the election of the non-party Giorgos Kaminis . In the parliamentary elections in Greece in May 2012 , a list combination of Drasi and Fileleftheri Symmachia (Φιλελεύθερη Συμμαχία Liberal Alliance ) won 114,094 votes (that was 1.80 percent). For the parliamentary elections in June 2012 , Drasi agreed on a collaboration with the parties Dimiourgia Xana and Fileleftheri Symmachia, the candidates competed on the joint list of Dimiourgia Xana. For the 2014 European elections , Drasi and Dimiourgia Xana ran as the Gefyres Alliance (Γέφυρες bridges ). The party did not run for the early election on January 25, 2015 and instead supported the new To Potami party . Individual party members ran for candidates on the To Potami list.
