Dratshang Monastery

The Dratshang Monastery or Dratshang Gon Ganden Choekhorling ( Tib. : Grva tshang dgon dga 'ldan chos' khor gling ) is a monastery of the Gelug -School of Tibetan Buddhism ( Vajrayana ) in the district of Huang Yuan (. Tib Tongkhor) of the prefecture-level city Xining ( tib. Ziling), the capital of the Chinese province of Qinghai . It is located in Xiasi Village of Bazang Township. The monastery was founded in 1637 on an old Buddhist site that, according to tradition, dates back to the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is one of the early Kokonor area monasteries in the western area of Tsongkha .

The monastery has been on the Qinghai Province Monuments List since 1998 .
