The Dreadnought Point is a striking and rocky headland to the north of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It is on the west bank of Croft Bay .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey carried out surveys in August 1953. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee gave it the descriptive name on September 4, 1957, as its shape is reminiscent of the bow of a dreadnought .
