The Croft Bay is a bay on the north central coast of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It forms the southern boundary of Herbert Sound south of the north-western end of the Antarctic Peninsula .
The bay was discovered during the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of Otto Nordenskjöld . The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) mapped it in 1945 and named it after William Noble Croft (1915–1953), a geologist for the FIDS in Hope Bay in 1946.
