Julie Gordon (born December 21, 1991 in Barrie ) is a Canadian beach volleyball player .

Career

Gordon graduated from the University of Guelph and Wilfrid Laurier University and played volleyball on university teams . However, she then switched to beach volleyball. In 2013 and 2014 she played in the NORCECA tournament series with Victoria Altomare . In doing so, she achieved various top ten results. At the end of 2014 Gordon / Altomare played the Open tournaments in Xiamen and Paraná on the FIVB World Tour , where they came in 17th place.

In 2015 Gordon competed with Brandie Wilkerson for the first time and reached the final of the NORCECA tournament in the Cayman Islands with her . Wilkerson / Gordon made their first joint appearance on the World Tour at the Luzern Open. However, in 2015 they did not get past the back seats. The best result was a 17th place at the Xiamen Open. In 2016 they reached the finals in the NORCECA series in Guatemala City and Guaymas before they won the final in La Paz . On the World Tour 2016 they took 17th place at the Cincinnati Open and 25th place at the major tournament in Gstaad . Their only joint top ten result at an FIVB tournament, they finally achieved ninth in the Grand Slam in Long Beach . In Trinidad and Tobago they played a NORCECA tournament and finished fifth.

In 2017, Gordon formed a new duo with Camille Saxton , who first competed in the five-star World Tour tournament in Fort Lauderdale . After that Gordon / Saxton won the low rated tournaments in Shepparton and Sydney . At the tournaments in Xiamen (three stars), Gstaad (five) and Olsztyn (four) they each achieved 17th place. At the World Championships in Vienna , they also ended up in 17th place.

In 2018 Gordon first played with Sophie Bukovec and since October 2018 with Shanice Marcelle .
