Shanice Anastasia Marcelle (born May 28, 1990 in Toronto ) is a Canadian volleyball player .

Career

Marcelle was initially more interested in athletics . However, in the fifth year of school in Victoria , she discovered her interest in volleyball. In beach volleyball , she won the Canadian U18 championship. In 2008 she began her studies at the University of British Columbia and played on the Thunderbirds university team. With the team she won the championship of the CIS five times in a row . In 2013, Marcelle was also named Sportswoman of the Year by the CIS. In the same year, she took part with the Canadian national team in the NORCECA championship , in which the Canadians took fourth place. Marcelle then switched to the German Bundesliga club Dresdner SC through the agency of national coach Arnd Ludwig and won the German championship with the club in 2014 and 2015 . In 2015 she made a decisive contribution to defending the title with the decisive four points in a row in the final. Marcelle then played a season in France at volleyball Nantes .

Marcelle will also play beach volleyball on the FIVB World Tour alongside Julie Gordon in 2019 .
