The Dreikönigskapelle (also known as the Chapel of the Three Kings ) is a chapel in Baden , Switzerland . It is located north of the city center on the edge of the spa district .

At roughly the same location, offset by a few meters, a previous building had stood since the beginning of the 12th century. The Romanesque chapel mainly served the spa guests and has been rebuilt and renovated several times over the centuries, the last time in 1821. After that, it was left to decay and finally demolished in 1881. The Catholic parish commissioned the architect Robert Moser to build a new chapel in 1882 ; the construction costs were CHF 22,000. The altar retable of the old chapel from the second half of the 15th century , painted by an unknown master and strongly influenced by the style of Hans Multscher , was acquired by the municipal museum in Dijon .

The neo-Gothic style chapel is 18.5 meters long and 8.5 meters wide. It is built on the steep slope and stands on a terrace. The neo-Gothic building forms an ensemble with the facade of the neighboring Hotel Bären . The rectangular nave is attached to the three-sided porch with a protruding middle section , with a vaulted choir at the end . In the main gable above the entrance there is a quatrefoil with a clock. Two bells of the four-part peal come from the old chapel and were cast in 1556 and 1564 respectively. The altar panel showing the adoration of the Three Kings is a work by Joseph Balmer from 1887.
